You too can help save the life of a homeless cat for less than you would spend on a trip to the movies. By sponsoring a cat for as little as $10 a month you help to pay for ongoing costs of feeding, medicating, and caring for the cat, until a permanent home can be found. Those not finding permanent homes will be kept in our sanctuary, to live out their lives with proper care, feeding and veterinary care. Thanks go out to our vets. Especially Dr. Lorraine Sellers, what a great gal.
Michael came to us on June 6, 2008. He was found on the streets in Cameron Park. Only because of his siblings are we able to determine that he was about 8-10 weeks when he came to us, however, he still remains a pound and a half. His condition is very similar to our kitten Eleanor's in that he shakes when he eats, walks, etc., (receives stimulation) however, he is completely self sufficient.
We checked with Dr. Sellars, our vet, and she had this to say about Michael J. Fox: Michael has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which means that the cerebellum of his brain did not completely form as a fetus. The cerebellum is the part of the brain which controls the muscle and motor abilities of the animal. He will not get better, but just as likely, may not get worse either. Dr. Sellars doesn't feel his affliction will necessarily shorten his life as long as he is an indoor kitty.
11/20/08 Michael J. Fox is now in a foster home in a family environment. He appears to be very happy in his foster home!
